Norwegian snow crab fishery receives MSC certification

Global Trust Certification Ltd. has recently evaluated the snow crab catch, focusing on stock status, ecosystem impact, and management measures in alignment with MSC standards. The evaluation concluded that the snow crab population is in good condition, benefiting from a mature management system. Spearheaded by the Norwegian Fishermen's Association, in collaboration with the sales team and the Norwegian Seafood Council, efforts towards certification have been successful. The fishing process, which exclusively uses cages, has made approximately 10,000 tons of MSC-certified Norwegian snow crab available to both domestic and international markets.
