In 2023, Russia experienced a surge in egg prices, prompting the Ministry of Agriculture to boost production and temporarily remove import duties in the first half of 2024. Despite a 2.1% decrease in egg production from January-July the following year, retail prices fell by 19%. The demand for niche eggs like quail, turkey, and guinea fowl remains strong, with quail eggs imported from Belarus due to domestic shortages. These eggs are sold through direct consumer deliveries or farm marketplaces due to their limited supply and the requirements of modern retail chains. Prices for these eggs are significantly higher than chicken eggs, with quail eggs sold by Azbuka Vkusa ranging from 209 to 726 rubles for various quantities. The company also produces processed quail eggs.
