The Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (Odepa) has released its September 2022 fruit bulletin, revealing a 1.8% increase in fruit exports from January to August 2022, reaching 2.7 million tons with a value of USD 5,631 million. The majority of the exports, 73.6%, were fresh fruits, with cherries, table grapes, and apples being the top three. Blueberries saw a significant decrease in both volume and value. Dried fruits, mainly walnuts, saw a decrease in exports, with the main destinations being India, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco. Processed fruits experienced a 2.9% increase in volume but a 20.1% increase in value, with juices being the only category to decrease in value. Other categories like frozen and preserves saw significant increases in sales.
