The Nigerian health authority has approved Brazil to export live cattle and buffaloes for reproduction, as well as milk and dairy products, marking a significant milestone in trade relations between the two countries. In 2023, Nigeria imported over US$875 million worth of Brazilian agribusiness products, underscoring Nigeria's importance as a trading partner in Africa. This development is expected to provide opportunities for Brazilian producers to expand their business and is part of a broader strategy by the Brazilian government, which has secured access to 149 new markets in 52 countries since 2023, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
