In Poland, the Agricultural and Food Quality Inspectorate in Szczecin has prohibited the sale of nearly 21 tons of blackberries imported from Serbia after discovering disease lesions and larvae in the shipment. This measure, which was made immediately enforceable, is part of Poland's routine border controls on non-EU imports, with the Szczecin Inspectorate conducting around 3,300 inspections last year. A similar ban was also placed by the Lublin Inspectorate on over 7.6 tons of Serbian blackberries for comparable health and safety concerns. These incidents underscore the stringent checks in place to ensure imported food products adhere to health and safety standards.
