Pará sends first shipment of tracked beef to China

Pará began exporting beef with the first shipment of 108 tons, departing from the municipality of Xinguara, known as the capital of fat cattle, bound for China. The state, which holds the second largest cattle herd in the country, with 26 million head of cattle, initiated exports of beef produced with the Pará Individual Bovine Traceability System (SRBIPA). The exported batch included more than 350 male Nelore cattle, aged between 13 and 24 months, transported in 22 trucks to a slaughterhouse with Federal Inspection Service (SIF) in the municipality of Água Azul do Norte, in Pará. After birth, each animal received two identification ear tags: one yellow, for visual reading, and another electronic blue one, which allows monitoring by radio frequency.
