From January to July this year, Kazakhstan's production of pasta and similar flour products decreased by 5.2% to 82.5 thousand tons compared to the same period in 2023. Shymkent, North Kazakhstan, and West Kazakhstan regions contributed to half of this production. In the first half of 2024, domestic companies met 78% of the pasta demand, down from 82.1% the previous year, with an 8.3% drop in production and an 18.9% rise in imports. Exports and re-exports fell by 16.3%, while domestic sales increased by 1.3%. Pasta prices rose by 4.6% annually, with the highest increases in Ulytau, East Kazakhstan, Abay, and Astana regions. Noodles saw the highest price increase at 12%, and the average prices for horns, vermicelli, and noodles in July were 587, 617, and 1.4 thousand tenge per kg, respectively.
