In the first quarter of 2024, Spain remained the leading supplier of peppers to the EU, accounting for 47.6% of the market with 158.42 million kilos sold, despite a significant drop from 295.2 million kilos in 2019. Morocco and Turkey have increased their market shares, exporting 63.99 million kilos and 38.04 million kilos respectively. Germany and the Netherlands experienced declines in their pepper sales. Spain's export value remained high due to increased prices, and Morocco, Germany, and the Netherlands also saw significant revenues. The EU pepper market is undergoing a shift with growing competition from Morocco and Turkey.
