The Peruvian agro-export sector started 2026 with dynamic figures, driven by sustained international demand for fresh fruits. During January, shipments of fruits and vegetables reached US$ 904 million, establishing themselves as the main driver within non-traditional agrarian exports. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), this performance represented an interannual growth of 16.4%, with a participation of 73.4% in the non-traditional basket. Products such as grapes, blueberries, mangoes, and avocados led the shipments, supported by their positioning in northern hemisphere markets. Globally, Peruvian agro-exports—considering both traditional and non-traditional products—totaled US$ 1,330 million in the first month of the year, which represented an increase of 8.4% compared to the same period of the previous year.
