In November 2024, Peru's ginger exports saw a decrease of 14% in volume and 27% in value compared to November 2023, with a total of 6,348 tons exported for US$ 11.9 million. The average price per kilogram also dropped by 15% to US$ 1.87. The climate and perceptions about the quality of Peruvian ginger in Europe contributed to this decline. Despite these challenges, a 34% increase in the average price to US$ 2.15 helped mitigate the damage. The United States was the leading importer of Peruvian ginger in November 2024, accounting for 49% of the total imports. Overall, 71 exporters, led by Vancard Perú S.A.C., JCH Agroexportaciones S.A.C., and Elisur Organic S.A.C., participated in the ginger market in November 2024.
