(Agraria.pe) Between January and May of this year, Peru has exported 8,044,058 kilos of canned asparagus for an FOB value of US$ 26,183,736. These figures mark a significant decrease compared to the 14,140,889 kilos exported in the same period of 2022 for US$ 37,559,740. According to a report from the Agrodata portal, the main destination of these shipments in the period corresponding to 2023 was Spain, where placements were achieved for US$ 8,396,401 (32% of total shipments). Next came the United States with US$4,857,327, Germany with US$4,084.81, France with US$3,350,278, Japan with US$2,752,012, Belgium with US$743,796, Italy with US$434,660, Chile with US$249,385, the Netherlands with US$243,645 and others with smaller amounts that together totaled US$1,072,152.
