In May 2025, Peruvian fresh mandarin exports reached 25,687 tons valued at US$ 32.1 million, representing a growth of +47% in volume and +42% in value compared to the same month of the previous year, despite the average price falling 3.8%, standing at US$ 1.25 per kilogram. The increase in Peruvian mandarin shipments was largely due to increased demand from its main markets, especially the United States, Japan, and Canada, destinations that notably increased their purchases compared to the same period of the previous year. Likewise, during this period, the citrus fruit reached 18 destinations (three fewer than in 2024), which was not an impediment to surpassing the same month of the previous year. Of all the countries supplied, the United States remained the main buyer (49% market share), with 12,649 tons shipped and valued at US$ 15.7 million, an increase of 34% in volume and 22% in value compared to May of the previous year.
