In March 2024, Peru witnessed a dramatic decrease in paprika exports, plunging by 86% to 3,317 tons compared to the same period in the previous year. The bulk of these exports were destined for Mexico, which absorbed over half of the shipments, with the United States, Spain, Russia, and Albania also being significant recipients. The export was predominantly in the form of dried paprika, which constituted 98.4% of the total exports, while paprika powder made up a minor share of 1.6%. Agroindustrial E&C S.A.C. led the export market, accounting for 17.6% of the total paprika exports, alongside other key players such as ADB International S.A.C., Agroexportadora Sol de Olmos S.A.C., S & M Foods S.A.C., and Arbayaza Export S.A.C.
