Between January and September of this year, Peru exported 3,440 tons of canned hearts of palm worth US$ 9.5 million. Although there was a 4% decrease in volume compared to the same period in 2022, there was a 5% increase in value. France was the largest export market, followed by the United States, Chile, Spain, and Belgium. The Chilean market showed significant growth, which indicates potential for Peru to increase its palm heart exports internationally.
