Peruvian shipments of canned hearts of palm fell 4% in volume but grew 5% in value

(Agraria.pe) Between January and September of this year, Peru exported 3,440 tons of canned hearts of palm for US$ 9.5 million, showing a decrease of - 4% in volume, but an increase of +5% in value compared to the same period of 2022. The main export markets were France (43% share), United States (17%), Chile (12%), Spain (9%) and Belgium (7%). Regarding France, it acquired 1,472 tons for US$ 3.9 million, which represented a 2% drop in volume, but a 7% increase in value. For the North American country, shipments totaled 592 tons for US$ 1.9 million, which meant a decrease of 15% in volume and 6% in value, compared to last year.
