Global: Plum season in full swing

According to the BLE, the plum season was in full swing: Italian and Spanish offers set the tone for the Sultanas, while German batches turned out to be the best choice for plums. Katinka and Cacak's Schöne predominated here. Bühler Frühzwetschge, President, Hanita and Top completed the range. Lepotica from Serbia sometimes had qualitative advantages over the competition from North Macedonia, Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Availability was extensive and sufficient to meet demand. In some cases, sales opportunities could be expanded; however, demand was limited during the holiday season. Reine Claude from France appeared in Cologne. In Frankfurt, German mirabelles initially cost €4.20 to €4.70 per kg. However, over the course of the week, prices dropped to $3.80 to $4.20.
