The article reports on the commencement of the pomegranate harvest in the Pamukkale District, which is known for being Turkey's second-largest pomegranate producer. The harvest, which has seen early activity, is expected to yield significant amounts of the fruit, thanks to favorable ecological conditions, ample land, and high domestic and foreign demand. The district's pomegranates, particularly the hejaz variety from Pamukkale, are renowned for their quality and lack of pesticide residue, making them popular for both local consumption and international export. Mevlüt Eraslan, a local farmer and exporter, highlighted the region's pomegranates as the best in aroma, taste, and shelf life, with an 18.7 flavor ratio, surpassing Israeli pomegranates. The district is supported by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in its production and export efforts, with shipments already underway to several European countries.
