In Ukraine, prices for greenhouse cucumbers have been rising for the fifth consecutive week. By the end of this week, wholesale prices for them amounted to 75-90 UAH/kg, which is on average 15% more expensive than 7 days ago, analysts from the EastFruit project report. The shortage of greenhouse cucumbers is causing the price trend to continue rising. Currently, the supply of the vegetable in local processing plants is very limited. At the same time, demand in this segment remains quite high. Due to a significant reduction in supply on the domestic market, most importers are preparing to start mass purchases of greenhouse vegetables in Turkey. Analysts note that this is a common practice. Ukraine begins active imports of cucumbers in the second half of October, when the supply of locally produced products decreases sharply.
