Pork prices registered a drop in March, reflecting lower liquidity in both the live animal and meat markets, according to data from the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea). The wholesale special pork carcass sold in Greater São Paulo had an average of R$ 10.06/kg, a 2.8% decrease compared to February. The Lenten period, which ended in early April, contributed to this devaluation, affecting the pace of negotiations. Meanwhile, beef continued to appreciate. The wholesale married bovine carcass sold in Greater São Paulo registered an average of R$ 24.32/kg, an increase of 2.6% from the previous month.
