The new grain terminal at the Makhachkala Sea Trade Port (MMTP) will be launched ahead of schedule. According to TASS, citing the general director of MMTP, Jamal Aliyev, the first phase will be completed as early as 2026, with the terminal fully operational by 2028. "We have a development strategy approved by the Government of the Russian Federation, and a shareholder agreement according to which we must carry out certain activities. Among them, the main one is the construction of a grain terminal, which will be the largest among all the countries of the Caspian region. This is 1.5 million tons of grain transshipment per year, with a capacity for simultaneous storage of about 100 thousand tons. We will complete it ahead of schedule," Aliyev said.
