In the first 10 months of the current year, Ukraine imported 123.14 thousand tons of potatoes, which is 5.1 times more than in the same period last year. This is reported by UNIAN, citing data from the State Customs Service. It is noted that the cost of potatoes this year was lower, so in monetary terms, the import increased by 4.8 times to 66.09 million dollars compared to 13.69 million dollars last year. The main suppliers of the product became neighboring Poland (36.9% of the value of supplies), Egypt (13.7%), and the Netherlands (11.6%). Export of potatoes during this period, accordingly, decreased slightly to 2.14 thousand tons (-13.4%), but at the same time increased in monetary terms to 521 thousand dollars (+2.4%). The most active buyers of Ukrainian potatoes were suppliers from Moldova (58.5%), Azerbaijan (38.6%), and Singapore (0.6%).
