In 2022, Primorsky Krai in Russia saw a significant increase in potato yield, with a 30% rise compared to 2019, reaching 201.2 centners per hectare and resulting in a harvest of 64.4 thousand tons from 3.8 thousand hectares. This improvement is attributed to the cultivation of new, highly productive potato varieties such as 'Dachny', 'Smak', and 'Kazachok'. Despite sanctions, about 40 tons of elite potatoes were imported from Germany. The region's farmers are supported by state measures designed to enhance production, including subsidies for specialized machinery, cost reimbursement for potato production and sale, and up to 20% funding for the construction or reconstruction of storage facilities.
