Bulgaria: Potato this year is 30% cheaper than in March 2020

Within the last week of the markets in the country there was a decrease in the average wholesale prices of red pepper, potatoes, Bulgarian greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers (Bulgarian and imported) in the range from 0.7% to 13.1%. There is a slight increase in prices on a weekly basis for imported tomatoes, apples and cabbage - by between 1% and 2.7%. This is shown by the data from the weekly operational analysis of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry for the prices of fruits and vegetables. The most significant is the decrease on an annual basis in the prices of potatoes, where a decrease of 29.2% compared to the same period of 2020 is reported. The prices of imported red pepper are also lower by almost 24%. Greenhouse tomatoes and apples fall with a 13.8 and 13.6% drop in prices.
