The Central Bank of Chile reports a 3% increase in total exports in 2022, reaching US$97,491 million, with the food sector accounting for US$21,597 million, including US$1,308 million from chicken, turkey, and pork meat. These meats made up 95% of Chile's total meat exports. The food sector saw a 16% growth, particularly in processed products like poultry, salmon, trout, and dried fruits. Despite a 21% decrease in the value of pork meat exports, they still reached US$608 million. Exports reached 194 countries, with increased amounts going to China, South Korea, and Japan. However, rising production costs, especially grain values, negatively affected company results.
