At the beginning of September 2025, the average retail cost of potatoes in Ukraine is 17 UAH/kg. Currently, prices on the markets range from 10 to 25 UAH/kg, depending on the quality and origin of the produce, reports "ProAgro Group".
According to Oleg Pendzin, the director of the Economic Discussion Club, the key factors in the formation of the cost are logistics, fuel prices, and energy costs. He notes that a gradual increase in prices is expected in the second half of October, due to the beginning of crop storage and additional logistics costs.
"If you buy potatoes directly from the farmers, you can find them for 12–13 UAH per kilogram. In stores, the price will be approximately twice as high. During the mass harvest, potatoes will cost 14–15 UAH, it will not be cheaper. And after mid-October, the price will go up due to storage costs," explained Pendzin.
