As a result, by 2026 the share of domestic production should increase from 7% to 43%, said the director of the department for processing agri-food markets of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to Kanat Zhauymbaev, this year the akimats are working to expand the sown areas of sugar beet by 6.5 thousand hectares to 18.1 thousand hectares and provide them with water. Due to the increase in the subsidy standard from 15 to 25 thousand tenge, beet growers will sell a ton of their product for 40 thousand tenge.
