The Department of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries has activated the health protocol following a Newcastle disease outbreak detected on December 23, 2025, in a poultry farm in the Valencian Community. Last Friday, two more suspected cases were detected within the same perimeter of the restriction zone, approximately three and seven kilometers from the initial outbreak. The action was deployed immediately, the Generalitat reported, since the first communication was received at 10:30 AM on December 23, and in less than 24 hours, the essential containment measures, veterinary control, preventive immobilization, and increased surveillance provided for in the protocol to protect the entire sector were already being executed.
