PTPN PalmCo Supports Food Security Through Intercropping in Palm Oil Plantations
PalmCo records that total corn planting realization has reached 140 hectares.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV (PalmCo), a Subholding of PTPN III (Persero), is promoting food security by developing intercropping patterns on unproductive oil palm lands to plant corn and rice in support of food self-sufficiency. PalmCo's President Director Jatmiko Santosa said they have taken concrete steps to support President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita through the utilization of idle oil palm land areas that have not yet produced. "We view intercropping on PSR (People's Palm Oil Rejuvenation) lands as an adaptive strategy and part of our corporate responsibility in supporting national food security," Jatmiko said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday (6/7/2025).
