A ban on frozen seafood imports from India, imposed by Qatar in November 2022 due to alleged Vibrio cholera contamination, has been lifted. This decision was made after collaborative efforts by the Indian Department of Commerce, the Indian embassy in Qatar, and the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar. However, the ban on chilled seafood exports from India to Qatar still persists. This development follows the recent lifting of restrictions on Indian seafood exports by China. India's exports to Qatar include a variety of marine products, with frozen shrimp being the most significant.
