However, after the sharp international price increase—more than 100% between 2022 and 2024, according to UNCTAD—and the drop in consumption in other markets such as Spain (8.6% less, according to Cadena SER), a prudent adjustment has been made for Peru, estimating consumption at 1,096 grams per person in 2024 and 2025.
