In 2020, Paraguay's soy bean exports exceeded the 2017 numbers, with 6.5 million tons being shipped despite logistic delays, generating a foreign exchange income of USD 2,146 million, a 36% increase from 2019. The soy complex and its industrial derivatives brought in an additional USD 1,825 million. Argentina was the primary importer of Paraguayan soybeans, followed by Brazil and Russia. Cargill was the leading soybean exporter, with Glenpar and Sodrugestvo also significant players among the 52 companies that registered exports.
