In 2022, Turkey's agricultural production hit a record high, with plant production reaching 128.6 million tons, up from 117.9 million tons in 2021. This increase was seen across various crops, including cotton, sunflower, corn, and oats, as well as vegetables and fruits. The country also saw a significant increase in the production of olives and olive oil. Additionally, the production of almonds and walnuts also increased. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is implementing measures to maintain this production level against the global drought, including support for modern irrigation and production of water-efficient species.
