The price of red snapper fish at Dar es Salaam’s Ferry International Market has more than doubled due to moonlight periods, with the larger fish now costing 55,000/- from 30,000/-. Other fish prices have also increased, and the majority of the fish consumption contributes to about 30% of the total animal protein intake in Tanzania.
