According to the Scientific and Practical Center for Sugar Beet Production (NPC of Sugar Beet Production), a total of 33 enterprises were involved in the sugar production season. As of December 21, due to insufficient raw materials, 26 sugar factories have completed the season. Almost 1.4 million tons of sugar from sugar beets were produced as of the reporting date, in 2020 about 1.1 million tons of sugar were produced as of the reporting date.

The sugar content in beet processing has significantly improved since the beginning of the season and is on average in Ukraine slightly less than 16.9%, which is more than in 2020 (16.1% at the reporting date) by 0.8%. As noted in the previous review, the director of the NPC of Sugar Beet Production Alexander Korotynsky, the positive dynamics of increasing sugar content in root crops remained. Compared to 15.8% at the end of September, the sugar content of root crops added 1.1% over the course of the season, which helped sugar producers. This fact was facilitated by dry weather in October and November. As of mid-December, sugar beets were harvested from an area of 226,000 hectares, which is 100% of the forecast and 10.6 million tons were harvested. The yield is 470 c / ha, which is 14 c / ha more than in 2020 (456 c / ha).
