Image by @jcomp / freepik Rice exports (husk base) totaled 140,200 tons in April, double the 67,800 tons exported in the same month last year, according to information from the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz), with data compiled from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC). Revenue from these sales was $47 million, compared to $18.2 million a year earlier. The result of exports of processed rice, with higher added value, also improved. In April, shipments totaled 22,400 tons, with revenues of US$ 10 million. In the same month last year, Brazil shipped 10,800 tons, which generated revenues of US$ 4.2 million. In the 1st quadrimester, exports of rice (husk base) totaled 508,600 tons, 1.80% less than in the same period of 2022.
