RM15 million to upgrade the Maragang Lawas Buffalo Breeding Station in Malaysia

LAWAS: A total of RM15 million has been allocated by the state government under the Northern Regional Development Agency (NRDA) to upgrade the Maragang Lawas Buffalo Breeding Station. Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said the upgrade project involved the construction of a cheese factory, feedlot station and quarters. "The project implementation progress is at 6.5 percent which is ahead of schedule and is expected to be fully completed in September 2024," he said. He said this while leading a visit to the Maragang Lawas Buffalo Breeding Station to see the current progress of the station's upgrade project, recently. Dr Abdul Rahman who is also the Chairman of Maragang Greenvalley Dairy SB (MGD) said, when completed the factory will be able to produce cheese based on buffalo milk and other products for the international market.
