The Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia's agricultural watchdog, has banned a shipment of food sunflower seeds from Armenia due to the detection of the sunflower Phomopsis pathogen, a harmful disease that can cause significant crop loss. This follows two other instances where vehicles carrying regulated products were denied entry into Russia due to quarantine objects. In 2023, 34 vehicles carrying regulated products were similarly banned.
