The livestock sector in Colombia has seen varying export trends throughout the first half of the year. Despite a pause in live cattle exports in July, the country managed to ship livestock, meat, and dairy products, totaling US$302 million. The first half of the year brought in US$198.6 million for live cattle sales, and US$94.5 million for meat and offal. Dairy product exports contributed an additional US$8.7 million. The volume of meat and offal exports has seen a decrease compared to the same period last year, but an increase compared to previous years. The main destinations for these exports include Russia, Chile, Lebanon, and Egypt. The export union anticipates an improvement in exports for the later months of 2022.
