In 2020, Russia saw a significant increase in the export of forage grasses and finished forage products, with volumes reaching nearly 66 thousand tons, a six-fold increase from the previous year and nine times the 2018 figures. These products found their way to 24 countries, with Latvia, the Netherlands, and Poland being the largest importers. The exports included hay, alfalfa, clover, sainfoin, fodder cabbage, and lupine, among other fodder crops. Lupine seeds were the most popular, accounting for 90% of the fodder exports. The trend of increasing exports continues into 2021, with over six thousand tons shipped in January alone.
