In April, Santa Catarina achieved its best results of the year in chicken and pork exports, with a total of 173.2 thousand tons of meat exported, marking an 11.7% increase from the previous month and 14.5% from the same month in 2023. The state generated US$358.3 million in revenue, showing a 15.5% increase from March and a 6.0% increase from April 2023. From January to April, Santa Catarina accounted for 57.6% of Brazil's pork exports and 24.3% of the country's chicken meat exports in revenue. The main destinations for these exports include the Philippines, Japan, and South Korea, with China experiencing a significant decrease in purchases. This success is attributed to the quality and food safety commitments of the production chain in Santa Catarina.
