In August 2021, the good prices practiced during the year, as well as the need to promote crop rotation in crop areas, motivated producers to increase their bean planting areas, however the drought frustrated expectations. Considering the variations in production expectations between August/2021 and February/2022, crop losses could reach 31.5%, from an initial estimate of 68.4 thousand tons, to the current 46.8 thousand tons. The data were published by the Agricultural Bulletin of Epagri/Cepa. Comparing the current crop with the past crop, the reduction should be 18% in average productivity and 17% in production.
