Russia: Scientists of the Bykovskaya melon breeding station patented new and unusual varieties

The volume of production of elite seeds of watermelon, melon, pumpkin by the Bykovskaya melon selection experimental station exceeds 50% of all elite melon seeds produced in Russia. They are in demand not only among Volgograd farmers, but also outside the region. The Volgograd region is among the leaders in Russia in the production of gourds. By mid-August, Volgograd farmers harvested about 17,000 tons of watermelons and melons. Products scatter not only on local shelves, but also delivered to other regions of Russia. Such success is facilitated by the achievements of the staff of the Bykovskaya Melon Breeding Experimental Station. Scientists currently have 51 melon hybrids in their work, of which 29 are watermelons, 10 are pumpkins and 12 are melons.
