In 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock identified the 100 wealthiest municipalities in Brazil's agribusiness sector, contributing R$260 billion, or 31.9%, to the total agribusiness value of R$814.5 billion. These municipalities span 14 states, with Mato Grosso leading with 36 municipalities. Sorriso in Mato Grosso and São Desidério in Bahia are the top contributors, with productions of R$8.3 billion and R$7.8 billion, respectively. Covering 33.1 million hectares, these areas represent 34.5% of Brazil's total harvested area, with soybeans being the dominant product, accounting for R$348.6 billion, or 42.8% of the total agricultural production value.
