The 2024/25 Brazilian sesame crop showed a positive performance despite the reduction in planted area, according to a report by Itaú BBA. The bank points out that, with less attractive sesame prices compared to the previous year and the appreciation of corn between the second half of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, some producers chose to switch to the cereal. Data from Conab show that the planted area fell by 3.1% compared to the previous season, reaching 639.3 thousand hectares.
