The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mexico has announced the dates and areas for the commercial fishing of shrimp and other crustaceans in Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, and Nayarit. The fishing season will start on September 10 in Nayarit and end on September 25 in the southern part of Sinaloa. The closed season scheme is implemented to protect the reproduction and recruitment of the species. The Ministry will manage and regulate the sustainable exploitation of aquatic flora and fauna resources, with compliance monitoring responsibility falling on the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of the Navy.
