As of April 14, Russia has seen a 10% increase in its imports of fruits and vegetables compared to the previous year, totaling 2.5 million tons, reports Rosselkhoznadzor. This growth is particularly evident in the imports of cabbage, onions, garlic, and salad vegetables, with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan being key suppliers. Additionally, there has been a rise in the imports of tomatoes, dried vegetables, melons, root vegetables, citrus fruits, dried fruits, stone fruits, cucumbers, peppers, zucchini, and bananas. Ecuador stands out as the largest exporter of bananas, followed by China, Vietnam, and Costa Rica. The primary sources of these imports include EAEU countries, Turkey, Egypt, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, China, and India.
