Initial testing and monitoring have shown no signs of disease in other chicken farms operated by Mainland Poultry in Otago, New Zealand, as extensive testing and monitoring continue. The first batch of results from the Ministry for Primary Industries' laboratory in Wellington, the only facility of its kind in the country, shows no signs of new disease. Biosecurity New Zealand is working to support the affected farmers and will continue rigorous testing over the coming days and weeks. The risk to human health remains low, and there are no concerns for food safety or wildlife.
