The Smolensk region's agricultural sector is performing well, achieving full self-sufficiency in grain, potatoes, and meat, with a surplus in egg production. Specifically, grain self-sufficiency is at 139.6%, potatoes at 100.5%, meat at 112.0%, and egg production exceeds needs by 45.5%. However, the region is less self-sufficient in vegetables and milk, at 73.4% and 70.5% respectively. This high level of self-sufficiency enhances food security and minimizes dependence on imports.
