This expectation is shared by the Brazilian production sector and government, reported sources to Broadcast Agro. Poultry products from the state have not been able to be exported to the Asian country since July 2024 due to a Newcastle disease case in July 2024 in an Anta Gorda (RS) poultry farm. China is the main destination for Rio Grande do Sul chicken. Industries operating in the state were expecting the embargo to be lifted after 16 months of being prohibited from exporting to the Chinese market, along with the release for the other states. Now, the expectation is for the release of the Rio Grande do Sul slaughterhouses soon.
