Soybean moratorium: Aprosoja-MT announces own oversight

The Mato Grosso Soybean and Corn Producers Association (Aprosoja-MT) stated in a statement that it has created its own monitoring system to oversee companies that fail to comply with Law No. 12.709/2024 and warned that the state decree regulating the standard may facilitate attempts to circumvent it through "disguised conduct". The statement comes on the eve of the entry into force of the law that prohibits fiscal incentives to signatories of the Soy Moratorium. The government of Mato Grosso published on Tuesday (30) Decree No. 1.795/2025, which establishes the procedures for the application of the state law. The text defines that companies participating in agreements that impose restrictions on agricultural expansion beyond Brazilian environmental legislation will be prevented from receiving new fiscal benefits or public areas of the State.
