Spanish wine, spirits, and sparkling wine exports experienced a 12.5% increase in September 2021 compared to the same month in 2020, reaching a record 260.1 million euros. The growth is primarily due to the United Kingdom and the United States, with China also contributing to the rise. The first nine months of the year saw a 13.3% increase in value and a 20.2% increase in volume year-over-year. The United Kingdom, United States, China, Germany, Switzerland, and Mexico all reported significant growth in sales. Packaged still wines were the highest-earning category, followed by still bulk wines, bottled sparkling wines, spirits, and sparkling wines.
